Any Francophile will tell you that French women don't buy into seasonal trends.

No, French women have their own thing going on, and that's just how they like it, thank you very much. I think it's kind of what makes French style seem so cool.

Summertime is no exception. All stylish French women have their own timeless summer wardrobe staples. These versatile pieces are what make their style seem so effortless - something I think we would all like to replicate.

Well, now you can.

Whether you're in Paris, France or Paris, Texas you can achieve effortless French summer style with these surprisingly simple pieces.

Summer is a prime time for events, so Morgane also gave her advice on what to wear for each occasion.

Loose White blouse

What could be more simple than a white top? It's literally the prettiest thing you can invest in this summer and you can wear it with pretty much anything.

Denim Skirt

Denim mini skirt

When it's too hot for jeans, a denim mini skirt should be your go-to. Denim cut-offs are a favorite of French summer style, too. And they'll look great with your white shirt.

There's just something so sophisticated about a high waist bikini. French women just seem to love them.

Espadrilles

Sometimes, stereotypes exist for a reason. French girls really do love their espadrilles in summer, especially when they're paired a wrap dress.

White Jeans

When you can't bear to say goodbye to your jeans for a whole season, in steps the white, wide-leg jean. A French summer style staple.

Ballet Flats

If you know anything about French style, then you know they like to keep things simple. And there's nothing more simple yet pretty than a pair of ballet flats.

Beige Blazer

For instant class, simply add a beige blazer et voila.

Summer is a prime time for events, too. So, here are some French-inspired outfit ideas for each occasion from the founder of French label Sezane, Morgane Sezalory.

Weddings

 Boho maxi dress

A floor-length boho dress either with a plunging neckline or back. And nothing sequin or sparkly that could upstage the bride.

The Office

A good pair of jeans, a silk white shirt and low heels.

First Date

satin lace cami

A loose silk cami, straight-leg jeans and heels. As always, don’t look like you've tried too hard.

On the Plane… to Paris Maybe?

Leggings and a loose sweater or thigh-length sweatshirt with sneakers or ballet flats will keep you comfy and chic all the way across the Atlantic.

If you’ve ever wondered to yourself, how do French women look so damned good despite the heat? Morgane provided a little insider tip; “They'll go to the bathroom to cool down, but they'll pretend they haven't. French women also don't wear much make-up and that helps in not being sticky when it's warm."
